Tauric rock rose (Cistus incanus subsp. tauricus) is an evergreen flowering subshrub in the Cistaceae family, native to southeastern Europe and nearby Black Sea regions. It has softly hairy gray-green leaves and pink crinkled flowers, and the leaves and flowering tops are the parts most often gathered for herbal use.
Traditionally, rock rose has been prepared as an aromatic tea in Mediterranean-style herbal practice. It is valued for its resinous fragrance, pleasant leaf infusion, and suitability for dry-climate gardens.
